A Legend Remembered: Wittenberg Benefactor and Community Leader Richard L. “Dick” Kuss ’45 Dies



kussRichard L. “Dick” Kuss ’45, longtime Springfield businessman and philanthropist, who was known for his extraordinary generosity and genuineness, died in his sleep Aug. 9. He was 87. Throughout his life, Kuss not only shaped the Springfield community, but he deeply loved his alma mater, leading and participating in countless initiatives to advance Wittenberg, including two capital campaigns that raised more than $90 million. Wittenberg honored him numerous times, including awarding him the university’s Medal of Honor and its most prestigious alumni recognition, the Class of 1914 Award, among many other recognitions. ***IMPORTANT FIRST TIME LOGIN NOTICE***:  You will find your Constituent ID near your name onthe address panel of your Alumni Network postcard or Wittenberg Magazine.  Your Constituent ID to login must be 7 digits in length.  If you see that your ID is not 7 digits, you must add ZEROS to the front of your Constituent ID number to complete the 7 digit code. You may then use this code at the "First Time Login" page.

Alumni Email Forwarding Notice 

As Wittenberg University alumni, you have access to lifetime e-mail forwarding.  All that is required is that you insert a preferred e-mail address in the "Preferred E-Mail" field of the Alumni Network's My Account section.  After your preferred address has been inserted, all e-mail received by your sxx.jdoe@wittenberg.edu address will be forwarded to your preferred e-mail.  You simply provide the e-mail and Wittenberg will handle the rest!

Wittenberg University hosted e-mail accounts will expire on July 31, FINAL DEADLINE, however those accounts will still forward e-mails.  Because of this, your preferred e-mail address that you provide in My Account cannot be sxx.jdoe@wittenberg.edu. If you currently use an @wittenberg.edu address as your primary e-mail address, you must arrange for the creation of a new external e-mail account.
